Dr. R.K. Nair co-founded Forest Creators alongside sustainability advocate Dipen Jain. Their shared vision was to integrate nature into urban spaces, making greenery an integral part of daily life rather than a distant retreat.

Established in 2014, Forest Creators embarked on its mission by planting 1,500 trees using the Miyawaki method, a Japanese afforestation technique that promotes rapid growth of native forests. This initiative marked the beginning of their journey to transform urban landscapes across India. They began by planting 1,500 trees on a one-acre plot in Umargam, Gujarat. The success of this project led to collaborations with 12 state governments, resulting in the creation of over 120 urban forests and the planting of approximately 3.5 million trees across India.

Under their leadership, Forest Creators has achieved significant milestones:

  • Over 120 projects completed nationwide.
  • More than 9 million square feet of land conserved.
  • Approximately 85,000 tons of carbon sequestered.
  • A remarkable 97.3% survival rate for planted trees.
