We at forest creators have been growing forest across India since 2014. Normally a human planted forest takes 100 years to mature . But we use Miyawaki method to grow forests. Here a 10yr old forest looks like a 100 year old forest. The growth is Rapid & fast. His method’s based on what’s called “potential natural vegetation”— a theory that if a piece of land is free from human intervention, a forest will naturally self-seed and take over that land within a period of around 600 to 1,000 years, with the species that would be native and robust, and that would require no maintenance. Miyawaki’s methodology amplifies that growth process to establish a mature, native forest in ten years — ten times the normal rate of forests planted by humans.

We have our Foundation “ Enviro Creators Foundation” which is 80G registered & under this Foundation

we have started an initiative called “Forest Creators” . We help Governments, corporates, individuals, Ngos create / make forests in the Miyawaki method.

This works like this in six steps

But before these 6 steps, you need to understand & believe that tree is living. And like any living being, it requires some care in childhood to help sustain growth & survival.

1. First, you start with understanding the soil& water. What kind of nutrition will make the soil conducive for Planting / making/ creating forests.

2. Then we identify what kind of Native species we should be planting in this soil, so they grow strong in the given climatic conditions.

3. To make the soil nutrient we identify locally abundant biomass / Organic materials available in that region so we can give the soil whatever nourishment it needs. This is typically an agricultural or industrial byproduct — vermicompost , rice husk, soya husk , cocopeat — but it can be almost anything. We’ve made a rule that it must come from within 50 kilometers of the site, which means we have to be flexible.

4. Once we have prepared the soilby mixing the biomass & turning the mix upto 3 feet of depth we start planting almost 30~40 varieties of native trees in close / dense proximity.

5. To create a Bio diversity & bring some major change the forest itself must cover a 100-square-meter minimum area. This grows into a forest so dense that after eight months, sunlight can’t reach the ground. At this point, every drop of rain that falls is conserved, and every leaf that falls is converted into humus. The more the forest grows, the more it generates nutrients for itself, more biro diversity, Mirco nutrients are created from the sub soil which helps accelerating further growth. This density also means that individual trees begin competing for sunlight — another reason these forests grow so fast.

“Rapid & fast growing forests can be planted anywhere using Miyawaki method” – Dipen Jain – Forest Creators

6. The forest needs to be watered in Miyawaki method anddeweeded for the first two or three years, at which point it becomes self-sustaining. After that do not disturb the forest & let it be on its own & let it build its own ecosystem.

Of course, you have to keep an eye on the forest in case of changing conditions.

This is why, for every species chosen, we do a thorough survey first. We go by real-time data, gathering information for our native species databases. So while a book

on native trees may say that X, Y, Z species belongs to a particular geographic region, until we see that species grow full bloom and in good health in that region with our own eyes, we won’t select it as a forestation species.

Miyawaki forests are being made across the world , Miyawaki technique is respected across the world. Dr. Akira Miyawaki has won the Blue Planet award in 2006 for his innovation. This is equivalent to the Nobel Peace prize in the environmental field.

Dr. Akira Miyawaki has planted more then 50 million surviving tree forests. And we get almost 98% survival once the proper method is followed.

This was we can change & heal the mother earth & the depleted environment around us by planting more & more trees using the Miyawaki technique of creating /planting /growing forests.
